Description

I Think What I Am Feeling was produced by applying 3 to 4 layers of tape on the old wooden floor of the artist’s studio and then cutting a round shape and peeling it off the floor. The glue picked up all the pieces of dirt and wood from the floor. In the gallery the work stuck to the wall from the adhesive of the tape.

Statement

I Think What I Am Feeling is sheer materiality. The elegance of the circle is challenged by the crudeness of the tape and the dirt. It is intentionally unpretentious. The title of the work is an ironic reference to the 19th century philosophical notion that the mind and body are two separate things.
