Description

False Modesty is a process work where dozens of long strips of kitchen wax paper were folded in two and then cut with scissors. Each strand is hung from the ceiling using wire, creating a mass in the middle of the gallery space that moves gently with the air currents in the room.

Statement

The work evokes feathers covering an absent, ephemeral body that has the pretension of modesty yet gives the sense that it really wants to be exposed.
