These series of photographs and videos are part of the research and development process of the exhibition “In the Flesh / En chair et en os”. It shows the ‘manipulation’ and ‘inhabiting’ of specific sculptural works by Léonie Bèlanger, Laura Borello-Bellemare and the artist herself.

In the process of research, the dancers/performers also became co-creators, transforming and extending the sculptural works through their movements and interactions, blurring the line between performer and artwork.
This embodied interaction created a recursive loop of meaning – I made the sculptures, then our physical engagement with them generated new meanings and interpretations, which in turn informed my understanding of what I had created. The sculptures became something more than just a physical object. The documentation via photography and video creates entirely new works with their own aesthetic and conceptual qualities.
