This work is part of the Sanguine series that is made up of over 20 works of gouache on heavy paper hung in a grid. The line of each tangle goes to the edge and connects visually with the drawing next to it. Each is mounted on a wooden painting board, an inch deep. The drawings can also stand-alone.

The series was exhibited together with Untitled and À fleur (de peau).

The work is obsessive in its making. The process begins at a starting point, with an idea of what form it will take, but allows for randomness in the process. Blood, veins, DNA unraveling inside the body uncontrolled and connected.
